The beautiful is the Two Collection (Collezione Theodora), designed by Mr. Lacroix. It takes the exuberance of color and shape and unbridled designed happiness SICIS has been famous for since 1988 and gives them a bit more gravitas through a line of incredibly elegant and trendy upholstered pieces and (almost) Victorian lamps. Not restrained by any means, the shapes and colors are sultrily sensuous. Anastase could have been preppy in a previous life, while the back of Belisaire could be used as a giant puzzle piece. Jeanne is a perfect perch for a modern Mme de Recamier, with Julien Largentier (see above) by far my favorite. Theodora is pure Lacroix, a dainty Spanish infanta reincarnated as a bergère and its ottoman.
If you loved Audrey, the shoe-shaped bathtub designed by Massimiliano Della Monaca for SICIS, and consider having one custom-designed for your palatial "hers" bathroom, you should probably also check out their One furniture collection, designed by Carla Tolomeo. Sexy, rococo, surreal, exotic, glamorous, seductive and, well yes, delightfully kitschy, her mosaic-encrusted pieces are like nothing else on the market. They look like Haziza sculptures padded in the world's most luxurious fabrics. Better yet, like SICIS mosaics you sink in.
